HOMEMADE DOG BISCUITS
Tired of paying for expensive dog treats, or worrying about what they contain? Here is a simple, inexpensive and healthy dog treat!
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg beaten
3 cups whole wheat flour
¼ tsp garlic powder
2 beef or chicken bouillon cubes or the equivalent in powdered boullion
¾ cup water
Dissolve bouillon and garlic powder in the water. Whisk in the beaten egg and then add the oil. Mix gradually into the flour until well blended.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until it stick together and is easy to work with (about 3 or 4 minutes).
Roll out to ¼ to ½ in thickness.
For fancy dog treats cut with a cookie cutter, other wise just use a knife to cut to a convenient size. (Make them small if you are using them as training treats and larger if you are using them as dog cookies).
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 1 hour at 325 deg. Reduce temperature to 200 for 20 min, then turn oven off and leave biscuits in the oven until they are cool and hard.
Store in a container with a loose fitting lid at room temperature.
